This is a large, modern InterContinental on Eighth Avenue at 44th Street, which puts it on the western edge of the theatre district — close enough to walk to every Broadway house, far enough from the Times Square bowtie to avoid the worst of the crowds. It opened in 2010 and the building was designed for the brand rather than converted.
Rooms are contemporary and generously glazed, with the higher floors getting real skyline views west over the Hudson and north over Midtown. The Stinger Cocktail Bar off the lobby is a decent room in its own right. For business travellers the Javits Center is a short ride west and Port Authority is two blocks north.
