Margaritaville built a 32-storey resort tower on West 40th Street at Seventh Avenue and committed fully to the concept — there is a rooftop pool with a bar, a five-o'clock-somewhere clock in the lobby, and a LandShark bar at street level. Whether that appeals is a matter of taste, but it is executed properly rather than half-heartedly.
Practically, it is one of the few Manhattan hotels with a genuine rooftop pool, and the Times Square location is as central as it gets for theatre and sightseeing.
