Privacy policy

What we collect ourselves

No accounts, no newsletter, no comment system, no advertising cookies of our own. We do not ask for your name or email in order to use the site.

What your browser calls on our behalf

• ▸Open-Meteo — receives the coordinates of the hotel page you are viewing in order to return the forecast. No personal identifier is sent.
• ▸A public exchange-rate service — returns current rates so prices can be converted. Your currency is inferred locally from your device's language setting; that setting is not transmitted.
• ▸Google Maps — the satellite embed is served by Google and is subject to Google's own privacy policy and cookies.
• ▸Google Fonts — typefaces are requested from Google's font service.
• ▸Booking.com — only when you choose to click a booking button. Booking.com then applies its own tracking and cookie policy.

Local storage

Weather responses are cached in your browser's session storage for fifteen minutes so that moving between pages does not re-query the API. This is cleared when you close the tab and is never sent anywhere.

Server logs

Our host records standard access logs — IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp — for security and for aggregate traffic counts. These are retained for a limited period and are not used to build individual profiles.

Your choices

Blocking third-party scripts will disable the weather panel, the currency conversion and the map embeds; the rest of every page continues to work. Questions can go to hello@journeyexperience.nyc.
