What Gansevoort Meatpacking NYC actually is

The Gansevoort opened in 2004 and is generally credited with turning the Meatpacking District from a wholesale meat market into a nightlife destination. The rooftop, with its heated pool and 360-degree views, was the first of its kind in the neighbourhood and remains one of the busier summer scenes in the city.

Rooms are contemporary and comfortable, and the location is about as central as downtown gets — the High Line's southern entrance and the Whitney Museum are both a block away, the West Village starts immediately south, and Chelsea's galleries are north. Expect noise at weekends; this is a hotel that leans into its nightlife reputation.

Questions people ask about Gansevoort Meatpacking NYC

Is the rooftop pool open to non-guests?

Access is prioritised for guests, with limited public access at times. In summer it is busy and guest access is one of the main reasons to book here.
